Nigeria TV Info, August 2, 2025 – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has released devastating statistics on the impact of the 2025 floods across Nigeria, revealing that 165 people have died, with 82 still missing.
According to the agency’s latest data, no fewer than 119,791 individuals have been affected by the floods, which have wreaked havoc in various parts of the country. The disaster, which spread across 43 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in 19 states, has also left 43,936 people displaced.
NEMA further disclosed that 138 people sustained varying degrees of injuries, while 8,594 houses were affected by the floodwaters. Additionally, 8,278 farmlands were destroyed, posing a major threat to food security in the affected regions.
The agency has called for continued vigilance and preparedness as the rainy season progresses, urging state and local governments to strengthen their emergency response strategies.
