A unique exhibition titled “The Legacy of Nok: Africa’s Bronze Age in Nigeria” opened this weekend at the Abuja National Museum. It showcases the Nok civilization, one of Africa's oldest cultures, dating back to 1000 BC.

The Nok people, known for their terracotta sculptures and early metallurgy, once thrived in what is now Kaduna and Plateau States. For the first time, a fully digital guided tour is being offered to Nigerian visitors.

🎨 What’s on display?
- Over 50 original and reconstructed Nok sculptures
- Interactive maps of ancient Nok settlements
- Augmented reality (AR) virtual tour
- Live performances and art demos from the region

The exhibition aims to reignite young people’s interest in Nigeria’s cultural heritage.

🗣️ From the organizers:
“Nok is not just our past – it’s part of our identity,” said Dr. Hauwa Musa, Cultural Director at the National Museum. “We should be proud of what our ancestors created.”

📌 The exhibition is open until August 15, 2025. Entry is free.
