Shettima Urges Respect for Dangote’s Investment to Protect Nigeria’s Future

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to show greater respect and support for Aliko Dangote’s investments, emphasizing their critical role in safeguarding the nation’s economic future. Speaking at a business forum in Abuja, Shettima said Dangote’s industrial ventures—particularly in refining, cement, and fertilizers—remain vital to Nigeria’s self-reliance, job creation, and industrial growth.

He noted that the Dangote Refinery has significantly reduced Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products, while other projects in agriculture and manufacturing have created thousands of jobs. Shettima urged both public and private sectors to cooperate in ensuring that local investors like Dangote are protected from undue sabotage and policy instability.

The Vice President reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to providing a stable business environment to attract more investments. He stressed that Nigeria’s economic prosperity depends on the success of its industrial pioneers and called for unity in promoting homegrown innovation.
