Tension as Dangote Pushes for Cooking Gas Price Reduction, Marketers React

Nigeria TV Info reports:
In a bold intervention aimed at easing the burden on Nigerian households, the President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has unveiled plans to significantly reduce the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), commonly referred to as cooking gas. Speaking during a high-profile tour of his refinery alongside local and international stakeholders, Dangote emphasized the urgent need to make LPG more affordable, especially for low-income earners who currently rely on environmentally harmful alternatives like firewood.

He revealed that the Dangote Refinery is already producing an impressive 22,000 tonnes of LPG daily and is scaling up distribution to saturate the Nigerian market. Dangote further stated that if existing LPG distributors resist the anticipated price drop, his company would commence direct sales to consumers, bypassing the traditional distribution chain. This, he believes, will ensure that the price reduction translates directly to relief for end-users.
