Dangote Refinery Takes Delivery of Over 2,000 CNG Trucks for Nationwide Fuel Distribution

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has received a major logistics boost with the delivery of more than 2,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks. This development signals the refinery’s readiness to commence large-scale distribution of petroleum products across Nigeria.

In a statement released on Thursday, the company confirmed that the trucks will be deployed to ensure efficient and timely delivery of refined products to end-users nationwide. The move is also seen as a strategic step toward reducing the country's dependence on imported fuel and easing the pressure on Nigeria’s fuel supply chain.

According to company officials, the use of CNG-powered trucks aligns with the government’s push for cleaner energy alternatives and will significantly cut down the environmental impact associated with fuel distribution.

The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest single-train refinery located in Lagos, began operations earlier this year and is expected to meet a substantial portion of Nigeria’s domestic fuel needs.

Stakeholders in the oil and gas sector have welcomed the development, describing it as a significant milestone in the country’s quest for energy security and sustainability.
