Doctors Suspend Strike as FG Begins Payment of Allowances

Nigerian doctors have suspended their nationwide strike after the Federal Government commenced payment of outstanding allowances. The strike, which had disrupted medical services across the country, was called off following assurances from the Ministry of Health and Finance that arrears would be cleared in phases. The doctors, under the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), warned that they would resume industrial action if the government fails to sustain the payment process.
