Tension has escalated at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, after a disturbing incident involving a post-basic nursing student, Seyi Ogunjobi, who allegedly attempted suicide. Ogunjobi was reportedly suspended by the institution’s Medical Director and Provost, Dr. Paul Agboola, under circumstances some staff have described as controversial. Sources within the hospital claim the student had endured weeks of verbal threats, intimidation, and humiliation, creating a hostile academic environment. The incident occurred just as he was preparing for his final hospital examinations at the School of Mental Health Nursing/Post-Basic Psychiatry. Eyewitnesses allege that Ogunjobi left a suicide note and departed his residence in visible emotional distress, sparking widespread concern among students and hospital staff.
