No fewer than 409 individuals have been infected with cholera across 16 local government areas in Niger State, with the confirmed death toll rising to 13. This alarming development was made public on Thursday by the Commissioner for Primary Health Care, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana. According to him, the state government has promptly initiated control measures to tackle the spread of the disease. Dr. Dangana emphasized that isolation and treatment centres have been designated not only in Minna, the state capital, but also throughout all 25 local government areas to ensure that affected persons receive timely medical care and to prevent further fatalities.
