On May 31, 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned a 30km section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway at KM 8, Jakande Estate, Lagos. This major milestone under Phase I, Section I of the 700km national project is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at enhancing coastal connectivity and national growth.
The highway segment will ease traffic for Lekki-Ajah residents, reducing travel time and boosting trade access to Victoria Island.
Other completed projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda include:
- Dualization of East-West Road (Eleme Junction–Ahoada, Rivers)
- Reconstruction of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Shagamu–Ibadan)
- Alesi–Ugep Road (Cross River)
- Enugu Artisan Bridge
- New bridge at Akpoha (Ebonyi)
- Enugu–Lokpanta Expressway
- Ikorodu–Shagamu Road (Lagos/Ogun)
These projects reinforce Tinubu’s commitment to national infrastructure and economic transformation.
