Tehran – Iran launched a retaliatory strike on Israel early Saturday morning, following a recent Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Syria. According to Iranian state media, the attack — involving missiles and drones — was carried out in self-defense and targeted only military sites.

The Israeli military confirmed the attack and stated that several hostile threats were intercepted. The government says it is fully prepared to respond to any further aggression.

The international community has called for calm and restraint.
