FG Sacks 115 DSS Officers Over Misconduct, Corruption Allegations
The Federal Government has dismissed 115 operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) following findings of gross misconduct, corruption, and breach of operational ethics.
According to sources within the presidency, the disciplinary action came after an extensive internal audit that revealed several officers were involved in extortion, unauthorized detention of citizens, and abuse of power.
A senior DSS official confirmed that the purge is part of President Bola Tinubuâs ongoing efforts to sanitize Nigeriaâs security agencies and restore public confidence.
Reports indicate that some of the affected officers held senior positions across state commands, with many accused of compromising investigations and aiding criminal elements.
The DSS management stated that the exercise will continue as part of a larger reform aimed at improving professionalism, accountability, and transparency within the service.
