2025: PDP Candidate Explains Poor Election Performance, Promises to Work with Governor Soludo
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the just-concluded Anambra governorship election, Dr. Chuka Nwankwo, has attributed his poor performance to internal party divisions and inadequate grassroots mobilization. Speaking in Awka on Monday, Nwankwo acknowledged that despite his best efforts, the PDP struggled to unite its members and connect effectively with voters across the 21 local government areas.
He congratulated Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on his victory, describing the outcome as a reflection of the peopleâs confidence in Soludoâs ongoing reforms.
âI accept the result in good faith. Elections are about the peopleâs will, and we must all support the winner to move Anambra forward,â Nwankwo said. He pledged to collaborate with Soludoâs administration in areas of education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, emphasizing that âthe time for politics is over; now is the time for development.â
Party stakeholders have praised Nwankwoâs maturity and called for reconciliation within the PDP ahead of future elections.
