In a bid to enhance security operations and quell the rising wave of violence across troubled regions, the Defence Headquarters has announced plans to deploy over 800 specially trained forces to Benue, Plateau, and Borno States. This revelation was made by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, during a training seminar in Abuja, where he emphasized the urgent need to bolster military presence in high-risk zones. The announcement comes on the heels of a tragic attack in Niger State, where 17 soldiers lost their lives and 10 others sustained injuries in a fierce gun battle with bandits in Bangi, Mariga Local Government Area. General Musa also disclosed that the troops undergoing this intensive and comprehensive training will graduate in the coming week, marking a critical step in Nigeria’s effort to combat insecurity and restore peace across affected communities.
