Tinubu Commissions N54bn Airport–Kuje Road, Pledges Continued Investment in Satellite Towns

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned the N54 billion Airport–Kuje Road project in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sustained investment in infrastructure across Abuja’s satellite communities.

Speaking during the inauguration, Tinubu said the project reflects his government’s determination to extend the dividends of democracy beyond the city centre and into underserved areas, stressing that development must be felt “at the grassroots level.”

He described the newly completed highway as a “game changer” that would reduce travel time, improve connectivity between the Airport Expressway and Kuje township, and stimulate economic activities along the corridor.

According to the President, the road is part of a broader infrastructure renewal agenda aimed at transforming satellite towns into fully developed urban centres. He reiterated that his administration “does not inherit problems to abandon them, but to solve them,” highlighting ongoing efforts to complete inherited projects across the FCT.

Tinubu also praised the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, for accelerating project delivery and ensuring quality infrastructure development across Abuja and its surrounding communities.

He urged residents to protect public infrastructure, pay taxes and support government initiatives, noting that sustainable development requires cooperation between citizens and government.

The project, executed along the Airport–Kuje corridor, includes modern drainage systems, bridges, street lighting and expanded carriageways designed to ease traffic congestion and open up new residential and commercial opportunities.
