Police Report: Bandits Launch Over 50 Attacks in One Week Across Nigeria

The Nigeria Police Force has released a disturbing report indicating that armed bandit groups carried out more than 50 coordinated attacks across multiple regions within a single week, targeting rural communities and vulnerable settlements.

According to the report, the attacks involved kidnappings, armed raids, and violent confrontations, leaving several communities displaced and worsening the already fragile security situation in affected areas. Security operatives noted that the incidents were concentrated in parts of northern states where armed groups continue to exploit difficult terrain and limited surveillance.

The Police stated that joint operations with other security agencies have been intensified to track down the perpetrators, rescue abducted victims, and prevent further escalation. However, challenges such as difficult access routes and intelligence gaps are slowing response efforts in some locations.

Authorities assured residents that ongoing counter-insurgency and anti-banditry operations remain active, urging communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information that could help prevent future attacks across Nigeria.
