Nigeria TV Info reports:
The Federal Government is considering the adoption of private Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for national examinations such as NECO and WAEC beginning in 2026. This move may mark a shift in how secondary school examinations are conducted nationwide. Currently, a total of 1,367,210 candidates are participating in the 2025 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), using a dual mode—Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and the traditional Paper Pencil Testing (PPT). Among these candidates, 685,551 are male and over 681,300 are female. Kano State recorded the highest number of registered candidates with over 137,000, while Kebbi State had just above 5,000. The integration of CBT is part of broader reforms aimed at modernizing Nigeria’s examination system.
