Insecurity: ADC Urges President Tinubu to Leave Villa and Meet Nigerians

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to leave the comfort of the Presidential Villa and engage directly with ordinary Nigerians to truly understand the depth of the country’s worsening security crisis.

Speaking on behalf of the opposition coalition, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC spokesperson, made the statement on Wednesday, emphasizing that the president’s physical presence and direct engagement with citizens across various regions would offer him a clearer perspective on the realities Nigerians are facing daily.

“The president needs to come out of the Villa and walk the streets—not just Abuja, but the places most affected by insecurity. Let him see, hear, and feel what the people are experiencing,” Abdullahi said.

This call comes amid growing concerns over widespread insecurity, including banditry, kidnappings, and insurgent activities, which continue to plague several parts of the country.

The ADC warned that unless there is a change in leadership approach and greater transparency, Nigerians’ confidence in the federal government will continue to decline.
