FG to Empower 7 Million Youths with Digital, Professional Skills — Minister

Abuja – The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has announced that the Federal Government plans to empower no fewer than 7 million young Nigerians with digital and professional skills within the next two years.

According to the minister, the initiative is aimed at creating millions of job opportunities for youths across the country and positioning Nigeria to compete in the global digital economy.

Olawande made the disclosure at the Strategic Youth Leadership Conference 2025, organised by the Ministry of Youth Development in collaboration with the National Defence College (NDC). He explained that the programme would provide Nigerian youths with contemporary knowledge and practical training in digital literacy, technology, and professional education.

The minister stressed that empowering young Nigerians with relevant 21st-century skills would reduce unemployment, foster innovation, and strengthen national development.
