U.S. Announces $32.5m Food Assistance for Nigeria

The United States Government has pledged fresh humanitarian support to Nigeria with the announcement of a $32.5 million food assistance package.

In a statement released yesterday via its official X handle, the U.S. Government said the aid is targeted at internally displaced persons (IDPs) in conflict-affected areas.

According to the statement, no fewer than 764,205 people across the Northeast and Northwest regions of the country are expected to benefit from the initiative.

The U.S. added that the support underscores its continued commitment to addressing humanitarian challenges and alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations in Nigeria.
