Nigeria TV Info – New Passport Production System Fully Ready, Tunji-Ojo Confirms

Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has announced that the country’s new passport production system is now 100 per cent ready, a development he described as a major breakthrough in service delivery.

Speaking on Friday, Tunji-Ojo explained that while the old machines could only produce between 250 and 300 passports daily, the newly installed system has the capacity to process 4,500 to 5,000 passports every day.

“With this, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) can now meet daily demands within just four to five hours of operation,” he stated, calling it a game-changer for passport processing in the country.

The minister further assured Nigerians that the government is committed to reducing processing time.

“We promised two-week delivery, and we’re now pushing for one week,” Tunji-Ojo affirmed.

This upgrade is expected to significantly enhance efficiency, cut down waiting time, and improve overall service delivery for Nigerians at home and abroad.
