Mystery Surrounds Discovery of Decomposed Body at National Assembly Car Park
Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has launched an investigation following the discovery of a man’s dead body inside a car at the National Assembly car park on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
According to Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, the distressing incident occurred around 9 a.m. when the lifeless body of an unidentified male, reportedly a labourer, was found at a construction site within the National Assembly Complex.
“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the National Assembly Division promptly responded to the call and found the deceased inside a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF,” Adeh stated.
The body was immediately taken to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed it was already in an advanced stage of decomposition.
The FCT Police Commissioner has ordered a discreet investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and intensified efforts to establish the identity of the deceased.
Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in the ongoing probe.
