Tottenham to make Mathys Tel move permanent with £30m transfer fee

Tottenham Hotspur are poised to complete the permanent signing of 20-year-old French forward Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich for a transfer fee of approximately £30 million, following a loan spell in which he scored two goals in 13 Premier League appearances. Although his time on the pitch was limited, with most of his appearances coming as a starter, Tel showed enough potential to convince Spurs of his long-term value. This deal marks the first major signing under newly appointed manager Thomas Frank, who recently succeeded Ange Postecoglou on a three-year contract. While the groundwork for the Tel deal had been laid prior to Frank’s arrival, the Danish coach is expected to play a central role in shaping Tottenham’s squad going forward. In addition to finalizing Tel’s transfer, Spurs have also set their sights on Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, a dynamic forward valued at over £60 million, whom Frank previously managed during his time at Brentford. Although Manchester United have reportedly had a £55 million bid rejected for Mbeumo, Tottenham are hoping Frank’s relationship with the player can be a decisive factor in convincing him to make the move.
