FIFA has announced a revised pre-match lineup presentation format set to debut at the 2026 World Cup, aiming to modernize broadcast presentation and improve fan engagement. The changes will affect how starting elevens are displayed, announced, and visually introduced before kick-off.

According to the global football governing body, FIFA says the update is designed to make team introductions more dynamic and data-driven, incorporating enhanced graphics, player statistics, and real-time performance indicators. The new system will replace the traditional static lineup lists with interactive digital displays used across stadium screens and global broadcasts.

Officials explained that the 2026 tournament, hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, offers a “perfect testing ground” for broadcast innovation due to its expanded format and increased number of matches. The updated lineup sequence will also feature short player spotlight clips, nationality highlights, and tactical formations visualized in real time.
