Ederson Leaves Man City for Fenerbahce as Donnarumma Arrival Looms

Long-serving Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson, has completed a transfer to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, the Premier League champions confirmed on Tuesday.

The Brazilian, who joined City in 2017 from Benfica, enjoyed a trophy-laden spell under Pep Guardiola, winning multiple league titles, domestic cups, and the UEFA Champions League.

His departure comes as Italian international Gianluigi Donnarumma edges closer to signing for City. Reports indicate that the 25-year-old is set to join from Paris Saint-Germain in a €35 million (£30m, $41m) deal, after being deemed surplus to requirements by the French champions despite playing a key role in their Champions League triumph last season.

City had earlier secured the services of young English goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley this summer. Trafford has started all three of City’s league matches so far but has struggled to fully convince, paving the way for Donnarumma’s imminent arrival as Guardiola reshapes his goalkeeping options.
