Nigeria TV Info reports: The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered 35 stolen vehicles across various states in Nigeria within the last six months, highlighting the agency’s growing role in national security and public service beyond its traditional traffic management duties.

According to a statement issued on Friday by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, who serves as the FRSC spokesperson, these recoveries were made possible through intelligence-led operations backed by the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) portal — a robust, data-driven platform that helps trace and verify vehicle identities in real time, making it a powerful tool in the fight against vehicle-related crimes.

Ogungbemide revealed that the stolen vehicles were taken through a range of criminal activities including armed robbery, abduction, and fraudulent transactions. Among the recovered vehicles are 24 Toyota models, 5 Lexus vehicles, 2 Mercedes-Benz, 1 Ford Focus, 1 Daihatsu, 1 Pontiac Vibe, and 1 Toyota Sienna.

Nigeria TV Info further notes that the FRSC’s success in these recoveries not only reinforces the importance of digital technology in modern policing but also demonstrates the agency’s growing inter-agency collaboration and strategic intelligence capacity in protecting lives and property nationwide.
