President Bola Tinubu has rescheduled his planned visit to Kaduna State and will now travel to Benue State on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in a strategic move aimed at addressing the persistent communal violence that has led to loss of lives and property. During the visit, he will engage with traditional rulers, political leaders, religious figures, youth groups, and other stakeholders to promote dialogue and peacebuilding, assess the situation firsthand, and work towards long-term stability in the region. In advance of the visit, high-ranking officials including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, heads of intelligence agencies, and legislative defence committee leaders have been deployed to prepare the ground, signaling the administration's serious commitment to resolving the crisis and fostering unity among the people of Benue.
