Nigeria TV Info reports:
With less than 30 days to the much-anticipated rollout of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks by Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Limited, industry stakeholders have shown strong alignment with the refinery’s plan to commence direct fuel distribution to marketers and key economic sectors starting August 15.
Findings by Nigeria TV Info reveal that as of Friday, no fewer than 25 oil marketers have signed partnership agreements with the Dangote Refinery for direct fuel supply — a significant jump from the initial three, signaling growing acceptance of the indigenous refinery’s new fuel distribution strategy.
However, this development has sparked unease among tanker drivers, who fear widespread job losses once the refinery begins direct Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) delivery to marketers.
Last month, the refinery had officially announced its plan to distribute PMS and diesel directly to retail dealers, manufacturers, and major players in the telecommunications and aviation sectors — a move that is expected to disrupt Nigeria’s traditional fuel supply chain.
