Tinubu Approves Tenure Extension for Comptroller-General of Customs

📺 Nigeria TV Info – President Bola Tinubu has approved a one-year extension for the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi. Previously due to retire in August 2025, Adeniyi will now remain in office until August 2026. A statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the extension is to ensure continuity in reforms and the successful completion of key initiatives, such as the modernisation of Customs operations, full implementation of the National Single Window Project, and fulfilment of Nigeria’s commitments under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
