Rivers LG Polls: Registration Centres Busy as Election Materials Distributed

Port Harcourt – The Rivers State Local Government elections commenced this morning across various registration centres in the state, with officials actively distributing electoral materials to different wards.

As at 8:00 a.m., several centres witnessed a beehive of activity, as election officials and party agents gathered to monitor the distribution process.

At the Elekahia registration centre, officials of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) were observed collecting electoral materials for onward movement to designated polling units.

The Rivers LG polls are expected to record significant voter participation, as residents troop out to exercise their civic duty in electing new council chairmen and councillors across the 23 local government areas of the state.

Security operatives have also been deployed to maintain law and order during the exercise.
