Tinubu: Establishment of State Police Unavoidable to Tackle Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that the creation of state police is inevitable as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security across Nigeria.

The president made this known on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja during a courtesy visit by a delegation of prominent Katsina indigenes, led by Governor Dikko Radda.

Tinubu emphasized that the federal government remains committed to confronting insecurity head-on, stressing that decentralizing policing is crucial to addressing the rising wave of violent crimes in parts of the country.

The president also directed security agencies to reassess their operations in Katsina State, which has experienced a surge in banditry. He disclosed that advanced military equipment and surveillance technology would soon be deployed to enhance security operations in the state.

In addition, Tinubu revealed that newly recruited forest guards in Katsina would be given greater capacity and support to bolster the fight against banditry and other criminal activities.
