Troops Neutralize Bandits, Rescue Victims, Arrest Suspected Terrorist

ABUJA — Nigerian troops carried out coordinated operations across the country over the weekend, targeting terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements, resulting in several deaths, arrests, and the recovery of arms and ammunition.

According to military spokespersons, including Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele, the operations, conducted from the end of last week through yesterday, dealt a significant blow to insurgent activities in the Northwest, Northeast, and Northcentral regions.

During the raids, a bandits’ commander was among those killed, and a woman suspected of involvement in terrorist activities was arrested. Several victims who had been held by the criminals were safely rescued.

The military emphasized that these actions are part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in troubled regions and urged residents to continue providing intelligence support to aid in the fight against insurgency.
