Remembrance Day: Tinubu Honours Fallen Heroes, Reaffirms Support For Armed Forces

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to Nigeria’s fallen heroes on Remembrance Day, describing their sacrifices as the foundation of the nation’s peace and sovereignty. Speaking during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony in Abuja, Tinubu laid a wreath at the National Arcade and observed a minute of silence in honour of soldiers who lost their lives in past and ongoing operations.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of serving and retired military personnel, including better equipment, insurance coverage, and timely payment of entitlements. He praised the resilience and professionalism of the Armed Forces in tackling terrorism, banditry, and other security threats, assuring Nigerians that government will continue to strengthen intelligence, training, and logistics.

Tinubu also called on citizens to support the military through cooperation with security agencies and by promoting national unity. He urged Nigerians to remember the families of fallen heroes and extend care and support to widows, orphans, and veterans who bear the burden of sacrifice.

The event was attended by top government officials, service chiefs, diplomats, and representatives of veterans’ associations, marking another moment of national reflection and gratitude.
