The United States Mission in Nigeria has issued a fresh reminder to all visa applicants, urging them to ensure full disclosure of their social media history when completing their DS-160 application form.

In a post shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Mission stressed that all applicants are required to provide every username or handle they have used across any social media platform over the past five years.

It added that failure to include all social media accounts during the application process could negatively affect an individual’s visa consideration, stressing that transparency is crucial for accurate background assessment.

The reminder reiterates U.S. immigration policy introduced in recent years, which mandates visa applicants to submit their social media identifiers as part of security and identity verification procedures.

The United States Mission therefore urged prospective visa applicants in Nigeria to carefully review their DS-160 forms before submission to avoid omissions and delays in processing.
